Knowing God’s will is so important in life if you want to start well and finish well. This is a sure way you can guarantee that you will not fail.
There is a way to hide under the protection of the almighty that guarantees your protection in life because God is everything.
What is the will of God?
The will of God is God’s plan that includes everything he desires to happen in heaven and on earth. The will of God is God’s intention, plan and ultimate purpose.
Why do we need to understand God’s will?
- So that we won’t miss the way
- To ensure obedience
- To understand the purpose of our existence.
God is the ultimate and has the blueprint of our life because he knows the end rom the beginning.
Whatever you are doing outside the will of God is a failure no matter how successful in life you are, you can’t please God if you don’t know his will and this is what makes us different from unbelievers. Your life belongs to God and hence you should always be God-conscious. HIS will is important because he knows what’s best for us.
Matt 6:23-26
23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.[a]
Do Not Be Anxious
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
When we worry, we are not different from unbelievers. It is okay to desire things but not to make them our gods and become overwhelmed by world things.
Classes of God’s will
The sovereign will of God: This is the aspect of God’s will that he decided to bring about and no man can change it as seen in Genesis 1:26 when God decided to make man in his own image and likeness.
The permissive will of God: Is the freedom God gives us to choose our actions in life. It is God’s permission that permits us to make plans which may be outside God’s plan for our lives.
Walking outside the will of God will require mercy from God, the way up may be down. There is nothing better than the perfect will of God. See Sarah’s plan that was permitted by God but ended up being an issue. See Samson who went against God’s perfect will of God. God never gives us permission to sin, Rather God allows us to make decisions that are contrary to his will but we always have the Holy Spirit to bring us back. If we dedicate our lives to seeking the will of God, we can never fail.
God’s permissive will is not God’s permission to sin.

1. Cultivate a relationship with him.

3. Build your trust in him – Proverbs 3:5
4. Have the mind of Christ
5. Seek godly counsel – Prov 11:15
6. Pay attention to how god has wired you – 1Pet 4:10
7. Listen to your heart
